So I recently got the new Kobo Libra 2 Colour, and I am in love with it. The displays is such an improvement from what I was used to on my Kindle – absolutely no hate to my kindle girlies. But this new Kobo shows colour even when it is in sleeping mode. Which got me wondering, how can I change the cover?

Most online explanations show a step by step guide for Kindle ereaders and Microsoft computer users, being a Kobo/Apple user myself that put me through a long searching period. But I am here now to make changing your kobo ereader cover easier for you. Follow the following steps...

This is how you change your kobo ereader sleeping mode cover:

Step 1.

Connect your kindle to your computer with the USB-C cable. After connecting, by clicking on 'connect' on your kindle, open the file called 'Kobo e-reader'. Which must look like a usb plugged in.

Step 2.

If you are an Apple user, use the touch keys 'command' 'shift' '.' (3 keys total, don't forget the period). Now you should see the hidden files of your kobo. It is okay if they look a bit more grey-ish than the rest of the maps.

If you are not an apple user, go to view > hidden folders.

Step 3.

Select the file '.kobo' (not to be mistaken by the kobo file under fonts). Create a new folder in this file and call it 'screensaver'.

Step 4.

Drop every png./jpg. file you like in the folder or just one. Multiple files will randomly appear in sleeping mode.

Step 5.

We are almost done. Just check in your settings > energy saving and privacy, if the options for 'current book' and 'full cover' are checked under sleeping mode.

Done!
